  • Hours: Selected Tuesdays and Fridays 9:00 a.m.-11:00 noon
    Selected Saturdays 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
  • Notes: The HHW Facility is open on selected Tuesday, Friday and Saturday mornings by appointment only. Do not go to the HHW facility without first calling and making an appointment as you will not be permitted access.
  • Capacity: 90 Day storage limit. Facility has 2 prefabricated hazardous waste storage units with a total capacity of 75 drums as well as a 1,000 gallon oil tank.
  • Limitations: Open to Morris County residents free of charge. Eligible commercial Very Small Quantity Generators ("VSQG") as well as out-of-county residents and businesses can also call up for appointments and use the facility for a $1.50/lb. fee. Latex paint is non-hazardous and after being dried, can be disposed of in the regular garbage. If latex paint is brought to the facility for disposal, a fee is $1.50/lb. will be charged for all users.

Acceptable Material - Disposal

Asbestos - (Type 27A) (Disposal) Must be wetted, triple bagged and sealed with duct tape before being delivered.
Ballasts (PCB) from Fluorescent (Disposal) PCB containing ballasts only typically from the 1960's and before, non-PCB ballasts can be disposed of in the regular trash.
Batteries (Dry Cell) (Disposal) Button Cell, Lithium Ion and Other Rechargeable batteries. Use-once batteries like regular alkalines should be disposed of in the regular garbage.
E-Waste - Computers, TVs, etc. (Disposal) Accepted electronics include only the following: computers, laptops, televisions, monitors, desktop printers and fax machines. Click here to see a price list to accept E-waste from entities not covered by the E-waste law. All other electronic waste should be disposed of in the garbage as it is not covered by the E-waste law and program.
Household Hazardous Waste (Disposal) Free for Morris County residents except for latex paint and BBQ propane tanks. $1.50 per pound for VSQGs and out-of-county generators. This includes a wide variety of chemicals found in the home, garage, shed or basement. An appointment must first be made by calling (973) 829-8006.
Latex (Water) Based Paints and Stains (Disposal) Includes water-based, acrylic, enamel and/or latex paints. $1.50 per pound for everyone. It can safely be dried out and disposed of at the curbside. Motor Oil (Used) (Disposal) Must be transported in containers no larger than 5 gallons (no 55- or 30-gal. drums). Do not fill pails to the brim!
