Curbside Garbage Collection

  • Program Description: The town provides for residential garbage collection. The municipality pays for the tipping fees directly.
  • Schedule: Curbside collection of solid waste is done each day in different sections of the Township.

Curbside Recycling Collection

  • Program Description: Residential single-stream recycling collection. All "single-stream" materials can be mixed in the same container.
  • Schedule: Every week and is done on same day as your solid waste collection.

Material Accepted

Aluminum Containers (Recycling - Single Stream - Generic) Rinse, place in single-stream recycling container.

Brown Paper Bags (Recycling - Single Stream - Generic) Place in single-stream recycling container.

Corrugated Cardboard (Recycling - Single Stream - Generic) Place in single-stream recycling container. Do not tie into budles.

Glass Containers (Recycling - Single Stream - Generic) Remove lids, rinse, place in commingled container.

Mixed Office Paper (Recycling - Single Stream - Generic) Place in single-stream recycling container.

Newspaper (Recycling - Single Stream - Generic) Place in single-stream recycling container. Do not bundle or tie.

Oil Filters (Recycling) Place at curb in clear plastic or ziplock bag.

 

Curbside Yard Waste Collection

  • Program Description: All yard waste must be either in paper bags as approved by the township or in a clean trash container. Plastic bags will no longer be accepted for any of these items. Grass must be in approved paper bags. Brush is to be cut into sections no longer than 4 feet and tied into manageable bundles Brush, leaves and grass are to be put out on the same day as your garbage and re-cycling.
  • Schedule: Pick up schedules are as follow: Grass clippings from May 1 through October 1, leaves from March 15 through May 30 and October 1 through December 15 , Brush from April 1 to May 30 and Oct. 1 through December 15. Chrismas tree collection goes up to mid-end of January.

Brush/Tree Parts (Recycling) Placed at curbside neatly. No logs, stumps or root balls.

Grass Clippings (Recycling) Place in brown paper bags. Bags may be purchased from the township for $1.50 per bundle of five.

Leaves (Recycling) Place in brown paper bags or in a reusable container.

 

Curbside Bulky Waste Collection

  • Program Description: The Township has a sticker program for items too large to be placed in a standard size trash can. These items requires a sticker to be picked up. Large item stickers are $15.00 or $10.00 depending on the - Small item stickers are $5.00 - Tires or extra garbage bags stickers are $2.00. Stickers are sold at the Municipal Building, 204 Flanders Drakestown Rd., Mt. Olive.
  • Schedule: This material is collected each week. Check with the town for more information.
