Solid Waste Services In Wharton Borough
Curbside Garbage Collection
- Program Description: The Borough is divided into two collection zones for garbage, recycling and yard waste collection. The zones are "A" and "B". A complete list of every street and zone is available in your municipal calendar. If there is a holiday, please check your calendar for any changes. It is mandatory that your garbage is in proper containers; it will not be picked up in plastic bags. The municipality pays the tipping fees directly. During the holiday season, please check your local newspaper for any changes, in the recycling or garbage collection schedule.

Curbside Bulky Waste Collection
- Program Description: Bulky items collection provided with the purchase of special collection stickers to be placed on the item being placed on the curb. All stickers are available at Borough Hall, Senior Citizens (62 years or older) and handicapped people must still obtain these stickers, but with proper identification, the fee will be waived. In the event of a change in ownership or change in tenants, it is the responsibility of the owner to make sure that the proper stickers are purchased. If this is not done, it will result in fines and/or liens against the property in accordance with our local ordinance. Any construction material resulting from any new construction or renovation to homes will be the responsibility of the owner.

(Recycling) No one will be allowed to dispose of any appliances (refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners) that has Freon in them. A certified technician must remove the Freon and issue a certificate to you.Tires
