Batteries (Dry Cell) (Recycling) Rechargeable batteries only as alkalines are safe to place in the regular garbage. Make sure battery are individually wrapped or the terminals are taped to prevent electrical shorting and fires.
Books (Hard Cover) (Recycling) Please place into the New Lagacy Book recycling bin. Please keep covers on the books and keep books dry. Also accepts soft-cover books in the same bin for recycling.
Brush/Tree Parts (Recycling) Take advantage of your weekly curbside collection for compost material. Accepted at Recycling Center Sat. and Sun. only 8AM-4PM.
E-Waste - Computers, TVs, etc. (Recycling) Accepted electronics include only the following: computers, laptops, televisions, monitors, desktop printers and fax machines. All other electronic waste should be disposed of in the garbage as it is not covered by the E-waste law and program.
Grass Clippings (Recycling) Take advantage of your weekly curbside collection for compost material. Accepted at Recycling Center Sat. and Sun. only 8AM-4PM.
Leaves (Recycling) Take advantage of your weekly curbside collection for compost material. Accepted at Recycling Center Sat. and Sun. only 8AM-4PM.
Motor Oil (Used) (Recycling) Place waste oil in a plastic bottle. DO NOT utilize bleach containers for this purpose.
Scrap Metal (Recycling) Small metal items not requiring a sticker for collection are accepted. An appointment for collection of larger items can still be made by calling 973-448-2053. Freon must be removed prior to placing in scrap metal bin with sticker proving such.
Textiles (Recycling) Bins are available for clothing and toys or you can call the Social Services Office at (973) 448-2026 to make a donation.
Tires (Recycling) A tag must be purchased at the Municipal Building before tires are brought to the recycling center. Cost: $2.00 per car tire and $6.00 for truck tires.
