Solid Waste Services In Roxbury Township

Curbside Garbage Collection

  • Program Description: Roxbury Township collects both garbage and recyclables on the same day in different collection vehicles. Please help us to easily identify your recyclables by clearly marking your containers. Stickers for this purpose are available at the Municipal Building or at the DPW Office. It is also helpful if you leave a space between your trash and recyclables when placing them at curbside for collection. The maximum number of bags or containers of trash is five (5). The municipality pays for tipping fees directly.

  • Schedule: Monday..Route 1, Tuesday...Route 2, Wednesday...Route 3, Thursday.. Route 4. Friday:.. Route 5. All garbage must be placed at curbside no later than 5:30 AM on your scheduled collection day then removed by 5:00pm on the day of collection.

Material Accepted

Type 10 Municipal Solid Waste (Disposal) Trash Containers are limited to 32 Gallons in size, 50 lbs or less. Limit of 5 containers/bags per collection.

Type 13 Bulky Solid Waste (Disposal) Free Bulky Service - 1 bulky item will be taken in lieu of 2 cans of trash. Purchase of bulky item stickers is no longer necessary.

Aluminum Containers (Recycling - Commingled Bottles and Cans) Rinse and commingle with container mix.

Glass Containers (Recycling - Commingled Bottles and Cans) Remove lids, rinse and commingle with container mix. Metal lids may be placed in container separately.

Plastic #1 (PETE) Bottles (Recycling - Commingled Bottles and Cans) Discard lids, rinse, flatten and commingle with container mix. Only bottles with necks smaller than the base are acceptable.

Plastic #2 (HDPE) Bottles (Recycling - Commingled Bottles and Cans) Discard lids, rinse, flatten and commingle with container mix. Only bottles with necks smaller than the base are acceptable.

Brown Paper Bags (Recycling - Commingled Paper) Fold and place in a brown paper bag or cardboard box.

Chipboard/Paperboard (Recycling - Commingled Paper) Place in clearly labeled containers or cardboard box. Plastic or wax coated paperboard is prohibited.

Corrugated Cardboard (Recycling - Commingled Paper) Place in clearly labeled containers or cardboard box.

Mixed Office Paper (Recycling - Commingled Paper) Place in clearly labeled containers or cardboard box.

Newspaper (Recycling - Commingled Paper) Place in clearly labeled containers or cardboard box.

Other Paper/Mag./JunkMail (Recycling - Commingled Paper) Place in clearly labeled containers or cardboard box. Plastic or wax coated paperboard is prohibited.

 

Curbside Yard Waste Collection

  • Program Description: Curbside collection of vegetative waste. The vegetative waste must be placed in brown-kraft paper bags or clearly marked containers. Materials placed curbside in plastic bags will not be collected. Vegetaive waste is also accepted at the Recycling Center Saturday and Sundays 8AM-4PM.

  • Schedule: Collection of brush, grass and leaves takes place on your regularly scheduled collection day for trash and recyclables and takes place during certain times of the year. Please consult the Township calendar for the proper collection dates.

Material Accepted

Brush/Tree Parts (Recycling) Brush must be tied in bundles, less than four feet in length and less than 50 lbs. The branches must be less than 3 inches in diameter. Trees and logs are not accepted.

Christmas Trees (Recycling) Trees will typically be collected during the first few weeks of January Check the Township calendar and/or website for specific dates. All decorations must be removed and no tree bags or stands.

Grass Clippings (Recycling) Collected curbside only in Kraft brown paper bags or CLEARLY MARKED trash containers. A limit of fifty (50) bags will be collected weekly during regularly scheduled collection times. Materials in plastic bags or large contractor barrels will not be collected.

Leaves (Recycling) Collected curbside only in Kraft brown paper bags or CLEARLY MARKED trash containers. A limit of fifty (50) bags will be collected weekly during regularly scheduled collection times

  • Schedule: This material is accepted weekly at the Recycling Center, Sat and Sun 8AM-4PM.
