Acceptable Material - Recycling

E-Waste - Computers, TVs, etc. (Recycling) No charge for drop-off. Accepted electronics include only the following: computers, laptops, televisions, monitors, desktop printers and fax machines. All other electronic waste should be disposed of in the garbage as it is not covered by the E-waste law and program.
Freon (Chloro-FloroCarbon) (Recycling) Accepts appliances from Mine Hill residents only for $15 per appliance, payable in the Municipal Building. Note: acceptance of Freon containing appliances at the depot is for Mine Hill residents only.
Metal Appliances (Recycling) Items accepted in the Metal Bin are refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, stoves, scrap metal, copper, and household items containing more than 90% metal. Pack items tightly towards the rear of the dumpsters. Please register in the Municipal Building before leaving any recycling materials. Appliances containing Freon carry a $15 charge each, payable in the Municipal Building.

For metal appliances (i.e. washing machines), if you are not able to bring your item to Town Hall, a “pick-up sticker” can be purchased from Town Hall for $10. Appliances registered prior to 10 a.m. on Tuesday will be picked up on Wednesday of the same week. If your appliance contains Freon, certification of removal of the Freon by a certified professional will be required at the time of registration for pick-up.
