Borrowing Clear Streams
MCMUA can loan "Clear Stream" recycling and trash containers to your organization for your next public event at no cost! These containers are easy to transport and set up, they are designed with restricted openings and clear bags that make them easy for people to use and understand where to their waste should go.
Clear streams are only available for use for public events in towns MCMUA actively serves.
To borrow the containers, you will need to fill out a form and provide information about the event, and who will be responsible for picking up and returning the containers. This information is essential for helping us to track our supply of Clear Stream containers. Once our team has received your order request, you will receive either a call or email from us to schedule frame borrowing and returning dates.
Tips for Event Recycling Success
- Recycling and trash containers should always be paired.
- Ensure the containers are properly and clearly labelled. MCMUA has signage available for this purpose.
- Designate volunteers or staff to check and empty recycling containers during and after the event. Educate volunteers and ask them to check for contamination.
- Ask food vendors to consider alternatives to Styrofoam. Even though paper plates should not be recycled (due to food contamination), they are biodegradable and better for the environment!
