  • Notes: The Department of Public Works should be called for questions regarding the recycling center. All other questions regarding curbside garbage disposal and white metal/metal pick-ups please call the Utility Department at 973-398-6832 ext. 113. Chipping service has been discontinued.
  • Limitations: Unacceptable Items: Window glass, mirrors, furniture, plastic bags, vinyl siding, propane tanks, gas tanks, paint cans, light bulbs, ceramics, construction materials of any kind, gas diesel, motor oils, antifreeze, kerosene, drveway sealer, aerosols, prescription bottles, syringes, styrofoam, and power equipment with gasoline and oil not removed. Also latex paint is not accepted. These paints are not hazardous and should be dried out and disposed of with regular household trash. No Tires will be accepted.

Aluminum Containers (Recycling - Commingled Bottles and Cans) Rinse and commingle with recyclable container mix
Glass Containers (Recycling - Commingled Bottles and Cans) Rinse and commingle with recyclable container mix
Polyboard/Drink Boxes (Recycling - Commingled Bottles and Cans) Rinse and commingle with recyclable container mix
Steel (Tin) Containers (Recycling - Commingled Bottles and Cans) Rinse and commingle with recyclable container mix

Acceptable Material - Recycling

E-Waste - Computers, TVs, etc. (Recycling) Accepted electronics include only the following: computers, laptops, televisions, monitors, desktop printers and fax machines. All other electronic waste should be disposed of in the garbage as it is not covered by the E-waste law and program. No appliances with freon will be accepted.
Plastic - Large Rigid (Recycling) Place in the container designated for Large Rigid Plastics, do not mix with commingled containers mixture of recyclables.
