Water Division
The Water Division of the MCMUA
has been providing high quality potable water to Morris County
residents since 1958. In order to serve approximately
8% of Morris County, the MCMUA has
established a complex system of wells,
pumps, tanks and pipelines. The MCMUA is actually a bulk water
provider which means the MCMUA provides water to municipalities and
other local water companies. The companies and municipalities then
pipe the water to Morris County residents and businesses.
Indirectly, the MCMUA serves approximately 35,000 people in Morris
County. All MCMUA water is collected from underground aquifers using
wells and is pumped to the surface. The MCMUA water supply is
collected from eight wells which have the capacity to deliver
approximately 4 million gallons of water to our customers everyday.
Six of the wells are located in the Alamatong Wellfield which is
located in Randolph while two wells are located in the Flanders
Wellfield in Mt. Olive.

Sustainable Jersey -
Protection and conservation of our water resources are important to
the MCMUA and as a result
Sustainable Jersey
has created two water conservation Priority Action initiatives. The
Sustainable Jersey certification program is for municipalities in
New Jersey that want to go green, save money, and take steps to
sustain their quality of life over the long term. In order for a
municipality to become certified, municipalities must complete a
predetermined amount of Priority Actions which are worth a certain
amount of points. Below are the two water conservation Priority
Actions.
