ReStore located on Iron Mountain Road in Mine Hill. Shop,
volunteer or donate materials for sale at the ReStore. The
ReStore keeps building materials, furniture and appliances out of
the landfill by accepting donations of these new and gently used
materials for sale at low prices. The proceeds fund
Morris Habitat for Humanity's home building projects.

Battery
Management Evolves - At the beginning of
2010, USDOT regulations regarding the transport of dry-cell
batteries will modify the way dry-cell batteries are collected
and managed in and around Morris County.

One (1), throw alkaline
(non-hazardous and use-once) dry-cell batteries into the trash; two (2), recycle rechargeable batteries using
Call2Recycle® drop-off boxes;

Your Insurance
Up-to-date - It is your
responsibility to keep your insurance up-to-date and to provide
the necessary proof of coverage to the MCMUA. Please forward your

Tipping
Fee Increase January 1, 2010
- On January 2010 the transfer stations increased the disposal
tipping fees by 4% to $90.38/ton for most waste types.

County Inspects For Recycling at Transfer Stations -

Safety
Note -
In July
2003, July 2008 and again in September 2008 fires occurred at
the MCMUA's Mount Olive transfer station. In each instance it
is suspected that a small quantity of pool chemical was
improperly disposed of in the regular trash and started the
fire. Never throw away pool chemicals, or other household
hazardous wastes, in the regular garbage. Click

adopted by the Freeholders on April 11, 2007 and certified by NJDEP on October 10, 2007.

Drop-Off is Now Year Round A
"Catch the Fever" Mercury Thermometer
Disposal Program once again hits Morris County! Instead of
running for six months a year, this program is now runs all year
long. To get rid of their mercury in an environmentally safe manner,
Morris County residents may bring their mercury fever thermometers
to participating pharmacies, municipal health departments, and other
municipal offices.

Regular hours resumed as of 12-6-2009 which are:
Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Mt. Olive facility's currently accepting brush, leaves, grass and wood chips.
Wood mulch and unscreened compost are available.
Parsippany facility's currently accepting brush, grass and
wood chips . Wood chips and
unscreened compost are available.
Commercial contractors are not permitted to enter facilities between noon and
1:00 p.m. Compost
facilities are CLOSED on the following holidays: NYD (1/1/10), MLK Day (1/18/10), Lincoln's
Birthday (2/12/10) and Presidents' Day (2/15/10), Good Friday (4/2/10), Memorial
Day (5/31/10), Independence Day (7/5/10), Labor Day (9/6/10), Columbus Day
(10/11/10), Election Day (11/2/10), Veteran's Day (11/12/10), Thanksgiving
(11/25-26/10), Christmas (12/24-25/10) and NYE (12/31/10).
Dump/material tickets are to be purchased at each individual compost facility
and all commercial entities (landscapers, contractors, etc.) must pay in full by
check (no cash or credit cards accepted) at the the time of dumping or
purchasing materials. The old Shade Tree ticket office on West Hanover
Ave. no longer distributes any tickets. Note:
all tickets expire at the end of the year in which they were
purchased.

MCMUA
Pays $290,000 to Municipalities for Material They Recycled in 2007 -
Nineteen
Morris County municipalities have received a approximately $290,000
for recyclable materials they sent to the MCMUA Recycling
Consolidation Center in Dover, combined with other materials markets
through the MCMUA in 2007.
