Click Here for information on the new Morris Habitat for Humanity ReStore located on Iron Mountain Road in Mine Hill.  Shop, volunteer or donate materials for sale at the ReStore.  The ReStore keeps building materials, furniture and appliances out of the landfill by accepting donations of these new and gently used materials for sale at low prices.  The proceeds fund Morris Habitat for Humanity's home building projects.

June 1, 2008 - Transfer Station and Compost Facility Insurance Requirements Changed -  The MCMUA has been able to lessen the insurance requirements for smaller vehicles (less than 26,000 lbs.) but there are revisions to the additionally insured endorsements for all customers.  The MCMUA must receive updated insurance certificates by June 15, 2008, or you will be denied access to the transfer stations and/or compost facilities. Morris County Increases Recycling Inspections at Transfer Stations - Click here to read the July 5, 2007 letter sent to all MCMUA transfer station customers regarding an increase in recycling inspections at the transfer stations.  The inspections target the improper disposal of designated recyclables with the trash.  Click here to read more about what materials are designated in Morris County to be source separated (at the point of generation) and then recycled. Morris County Recycling Plan Update is Certified by the NJDEP- Click here to read Morris County's most recent recycling plan update called Response to the January 2006 New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Solid Waste Management and Sludge Management State Plan Update - March 2007.  This plan was adopted by the Freeholders on April 11, 2007 and certified by NJDEP on October 10, 2007.

Catch the FeverThermometer Drop-Off is Now Year Round
A "Catch the Fever" Mercury Thermometer Disposal Program once again hits Morris County! Instead of running for six months a year, this program is now runs all year long. To get rid of their mercury in an environmentally safe manner, Morris County residents may bring their mercury fever thermometers to participating pharmacies, municipal health departments, and other municipal offices. Compost Facilities

Daily Hours of Compost Facilities: -  Regular facility hours are 7:00 a.m. to noon and 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Facilities close at approx. 3:00 p.m. to allow a safe shutdown of equipment and facility. No commercial contractors allowed to enter facilities between noon and 1:00 p.m., according to NJDEP permit. Violators may be banned from MUA facilities.

Parsippany Facility: - Facility is accepting source-separated brush, leaves, grass and wood chips. Wood mulch and unscreened compost is available. Screened compost may not be available to landscapers until mid- or late May.

Mount Olive Facility: - Facility is accepting source-separated  brush, leaves, grass and wood chips. Landscapers may purchase screened compost, and wood mulch. Screened and unscreened compost will be available starting in the Spring.

Compost facilities are CLOSED on the following holidays: Memorial Day (5/26/08), 4th of July (7/4/08), Labor Day (9/1/08), Columbus Day (10/13/08), Thanksgiving (11/27/08), and Christmas (12/25/08)

Shade Tree ticket office is open for tickets Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to noon.  Please plan in advance when purchasing tickets and try to use tickets within a week of purchasing. Tickets are available on site in Mount Olive at all times. All tickets expire at the end of the year in which they were purchased. ABSOLUTELY NO exchanges, credits, swaps, or money back for unused tickets.

MCMUA Pays $290,000 to Municipalities for Material They Recycled in 2007 - Nineteen Morris County municipalities have received a approximately $290,000 for recyclable materials they sent to the MCMUA Recycling Consolidation Center in Dover, combined with other materials markets through the MCMUA in 2007.  Click here for more information
